Awesome Interviews – Billy Grima

Billy Grima is an Australian born singer/songwriter who was nice enough to take the time to chat with us.  What did he have to say?  read the complete interview here:

AC – Hello, thanks for taking the time to chat with me. Take a second to introduce yourself.

Billy – Hi my name is Billy Grima. I was born in Blacktown NSW Australia, and immigrated to Canada at the age of fifteen. I am a singer/songwriter and I have released three albums ” I’M JUST STANDING” “LITTLE PEACE OF HEAVEN” and my latest “SUGAR AND CREAM”.

AC – Who were your musical influences growing up?

Billy – I have had a few, Billy Joel, Joe Cocker, Sarah Mclachlan, Sheryl Crow, Steve Perry

AC – What makes your music unique and different from everything else that’s out there?

Billy – I like too many styles of music , growing up listening to country and also Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. The radio was always on and parents were always singing. Must say my parents always sang in tune !!!!!

AC – How has Canada influenced you and your sound?

Billy – Moving to Canada, the music scene was a little different as kids in school at the time where listening to bands such as JOURNEY ,NEIL YOUNG,VAN HALEN. As for musicianship…it was a lot more competitive and it was a wake up call, get your act in gear or fall behind .

AC – Do you have anything coming up we can look forward to?

Billy – Yes I  started performing in Toronto and also have been doing quite a few radio shows and TV appearances. Also I have been working on my fourth album and plan to start touring the USA in 2016.
