Jose Bautista will be making his return to the starting lineup this afternoon as the Jays visit the Tigers in Detroit.  Bautista has missed the last three games with a sore ankle.  Reports say that he will be slotted in as the designated hitter, with Adam Lind looking like he will be the odd man out.

Bautista injured his right ankle against the Cleveland Indians last week, and though he was a candidate to pinch hit against the Red Sox, he didn’t appear in the weekend series. Instead, he rested and John Gibbons managed with a short bench.

Brandon Morrow is set to start for Toronto while Anibal Sanchez will likely take the hill for the Tigers.  The Blue Jays are looking to start their first road trip of the season with a win after going a disappointing 2-4 in their first two home series at Rogers Centre.  The 3-3 Tigers are hoping for another strong start from Sanchez, who pitched five scoreless innings in his season debut.

Morrow pitched well in his first start, he faced the Indians striking out eight and walking two in six innings of work. Morrow threw 100 pitches, averaging more than 95 m.p.h. with his fastball, in a game the Blue Jays ultimately lost 3-2 in eleven innings.

The Tigers won four of six games against the Blue Jays in 2012.
