Strong showings from two Canadian Mens tennis players in Montreal this past week has helped them both surge to career highs in the ATP rankings.

Rogers Cup finalist Milos Raonic  is the first Canadian men’s singles player to make the ATP top-10 after the tour released its new rankings Monday that put the Thornhill, Ont., product up three spots to No. 10.

Raonic’s finals appearance made him the first Canadian to play for the title of the country’s top tournament in more than 50 years.

Despite his move into the top-10, Raonic didn’t have the biggest jump in the rankings among Canadian men.

Vasek Pospisil of Vernon, B.C., who lost to Raonic in the Rogers Cup semifinals, rose an incredible 31 spots to No. 40 to also reach his career high.
