The trade we mentioned earlier today is now official.  The Raptors acquire Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi as part of a three team deal with the Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies.  Toronto sends Ed Davis to Memphis and Jose Calderon to Detroit.   Memphis will be receiving Tayshaun Prince and Austin Davis aswell.

At first glance the Raptors appear to be the clear winners of the blockbuster deal acquiring the best player in Gay.  The trade leaves the Toronto’s  roster looking like a much different from just earlier this afternoon. With multiple players signed to long-term contracts the Raptors are placing a lot in the lap of the current group as future flexibility is limited.  This is going to be the core of a team Raptors fans will have to get accustomed to, they will be here for a while.
