Getting your Pet’s in the Halloween Spirit Steve Webster October 3, 2013 Holidays, Life 2455 For most people, pets are truly a part of the family. They’re included on family outings, children share their deepest, darkest secrets with them and when they’re sick we care for them as we would any other loved one. It’s no wonder therefore that when the holiday season arrives, pet owners set their sights on Halloween pet costumes to include their furry family member in the fun. There are so many fun pet costumes available it would take too long to list them all. So here’s some ideas for pet costumes that can match your wearing this Halloween. The most cliché costume of them all is probably the “hot dog” costume for dogs. This would be very fitting if you, or perhaps your entire family dress up as football or baseball players. After all, you can’t go to a game without getting a hot dog. Or how about a Tom & Jerry combo? You can wear a cat costume, while your cat wears a mouse outfit. Admittedly, it’ll probably be easier if you dress up as the mouse and your cat, well, stays a cat but wheres the fun in that. Are you impersonating Santa Claus this year? Then why not turn your lovable pooch into Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer? If you have a dog sledding team, you can go all out and turn all your sled dogs into reindeer. For the Star Wars fans who spend Halloween as Darth Vader, princess Leia or Boba Fett, know that there’s even an Imperial Walker costume. This will look particularly impressive on larger dogs. Yoda, Taun Taun, Dewback and Bantha dog costumes are also available. Angry Birds is still hot. If you and your family choose Angry Birds as a Halloween theme, your pets can join in on the fun. You can choose between a bird or pig Halloween pet costume. Fans of shark week will be happy to learn there are several shark pet costumes available. In fact, Animal Planet has released a whole range of animal pet costumes. You can dress up as a pirate or sailor. You can also go for spooky themed costumes. It is Halloween after all. Witches, bats, a headless horseman and pumpkin outfits will make Halloween a little bit scarier. Or hilarious. Superheroes have never been more popular. Match your superhero persona with anything from Batman and Spiderman to Superman or the Joker. The range of Halloween pet costumes is so varied, you’re bound to find something that matches your favorite theme. And with your furry sidekick by your side this will surely be an unforgettable Halloween. Remember to take plenty of pictures and stock up on the pet treats. Think this is Awesome?
