Thinking Out Loud, One Proud Canuck Lynn Burelle August 28, 2013 Commentary 2114 I have to say we live in the best country in the world. Canada is magnificent in its diverse landscape, we, as a people, are difficult to describe with our many cultures and religions intermingling and becoming one huge melting pot of cultures and beliefs. We are tolerant, welcoming, loving, polite and forgiving. We stand up for what we believe in and we are strong in the face of adversity, we stand together as one, different colours, different races, different cultures, different beliefs, different heritages, but we are all Canadian. We celebrate our differences and hold on to and share our different cultures and beliefs. From the rugged mountainous remote forests, to the hustle and bustle of big cities, and everything else in between, there is something for everybody. Our wilderness is vast, our cities are cultural, historical and exciting. We have talented people, singers, dancers, writers, actors, comedians, artists of all genres. We are known for beer, hockey, the Canada arm, as well as our peaceful and polite nature. I love that we are thought of as polite. I get chills when the Canadian anthem is sung and all the crowd joins in and before you know it a thousand voices have come together to celebrate Canada. We have the right to disagree with our government and when enough voices come together, we can make a difference We have a huge supply of natural resources. We can pan for gold in rivers that flow crystal clear from pristine mountain lakes, and we can do it for free! We drill for oil in a way that helps preserve nature and not destroy it. Canadian scientists are coming up with new and innovative ideas every day to make the oil industry safer for the people who work the oil fields and the environment that surrounds it. We have diamond mines employing thousands of people, and Canadian diamonds are known world wide for their clarity and colour. We have a logging Industry that plants twice as many trees as they cut. They help the export business by exporting tons of wood every year. Our fishing industry exports fish all over the world. There is an entire industry dedicated to fish farming and restocking the fish supplies in our lakes and oceans. Lets celebrate being Canadian, and living in a country that allows us to voice our opinions, and be who and what we want to be. Think this is Awesome?
