That’s were Toronto-based luxury bespoke tailoring house Garrison Bespoke comes in.  This morning they launched the first fashion-forward bulletproof suit with a live ammo field-test today at the Ajax, Ontario Rod and Gun Club.

“After receiving requests from high-profile clients who travel to dangerous places for work, we set out to develop a lightweight, fashion-forward bulletproof suit as a more discreet and stylish alternative to wearing a bulky vest underneath,” said Michael Nguyen, co-owner and bespoke tailor of Garrison Bespoke.

The Garrison Bespoke bulletproof suit is made with carbon nanotubes created using nanotechnology and originally developed to protect the US 19th Special Forces in Iraq. The patented material is thinner, more flexible and fifty per cent lighter than Kevlar, which is traditionally used for bulletproof gear. The Garrison Bespoke bulletproof suit also protects against stabbing as the carbon nanotubes harden on impact preventing a knife from penetrating.

So what will a fashionable suit cost the threatened man in your life to ad to their closest?  Well it’s not cheap, the average price of a concealable vest ranges from $100-$200 dollars now take a breath and swallow,   a Garrison Bespoke bulletproof suit will be starting at $20,000.

Realistically though any person interested in a tailored bullet proof suit likely isn’t looking at the price tag to see how may zeros are on the end.  Really, what price can you put on your piece of mind and your life?
