Lets face it, Canada is the most diverse and beautiful country in the world,from bustling metropolises to frozen forests, not to mention the amazing wildlife that calls Canada home. In honour of the great country we live in, here a some of our favourite reasons to be proud Canadians.

  1. Hockey, there was little debate about what would be first on our list.  Hockey unites our country and is one of the first things that newcomers lean toward when trying to experience Canada.
  2.  Beer, sure we didn’t invent it but with out a doubt we perfected it.
  3. Bacon, no further explanation required.
  4. Tim Hortons, where else could something as simple as a donut shop turn into a magnet for every “cool” person in every city and town, oh and the coffee isn’t bad either.
  5. Polar Bears, sure most Canadians haven’t ever seen a polar bear outside of a zoo or on T.V. but we are sure they are out there.
  6. Maple Syrup, helping make pancakes edible one litre at a time.
  7. Niagara Falls, separating us from those dastardly neighbours of ours and making it look Awesome.
  8. Comedians, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, John Candy just to scratch the surface.
  9. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police,  Horseback police are just Awesome not to mention their uniforms are pretty cool too.
  10. Newfoundland, for helping us laugh over and over and over.
  11. Parks, no not the ones around the corner with the swing set, were talking Banff and Algonquin kind of Awesomness.
  12. Harveys, now that’s how you do a fast food hamburger.
  13. Boxing Day, because deals after Christmas just makes sense to us.
  14. Java, computer systems just wouldnt be the same without Calgary’s James Goslings invention.
  15. Peanut Butter, yes we had the first patent for p.b., Montrealer  Marcellus Gilmore Edson 1884.

Sure there are another million things we could include in this list but if we name them all it would just seem like bragging, and that’s not very Canadian is it?
