Police Issue Warning after Cab Assault Steve Webster March 4, 2013 AC Archives 1383 A disturbing case in Toronto has police alerting the public after a woman has reportedly been sexually assaulted by a cab driver. Police say it started when a woman hailed down and then got into a cab in the Peter Street and Adelaide Street area of the Entertainment District around 3:00am Sunday morning after leaving a nearby night club. The woman has reportedly told police the driver then drove her to an isolated area around Gerrard Street East and Clonmore Drive. She then says he parked the cab and proceeded to sexually assault her. The driver then allegedly fled the scene leaving the woman alone where she then called police. Police are not commenting on whether or not there are possibly more victims or if they have confirmed what cab company the suspect driver works for. They are however asking the public’s assistance with any information they may have about the alleged suspect. The Entertainment District was highly congested at the time of the initial pick up as hundreds of party goers were attempting to get into dozens of cabs after many local niteclub’s closing time. The suspect is described as a male in his late 20’s, standing approximately five-foot-11 with a brown complexion and a medium build. The suspect’s cab is described as a white minivan.
