Police still seeking answers to 2011 homicide

A $50-thousand reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the 2011 murder of a Grey Highlands Township man.

The lifeless body of a 53-year-old Vietnamese national, Van Sanh TIEU, was discovered on February 18th, 2011 following excavation of a residence on Mississauga Road in the Town of Caledon. The excavation was being conducted after a large residential fire consumed the house the day before.

Mr. TIEU was tending to the property days before his death and was last observed at the residence in the Town of Caledon on the evening of February 16th, 2011. Evidence discovered at the scene indicated the house had been used as a marihuana grow-op and, following a post mortem, Mr. TIEU’s death was ruled a homicide.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of Detective Inspector Martin GRAHAM of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
