Thinking About Getting a New Phone? Awesome Canada Staff February 10, 2016 Tech News, Technology 5769 If you are thinking about buying a new phone in the next couple weeks, WAIT if you can help it! There are a few new and amazing phones rumoured to come out shortly that will change the way you communicate. So before you go running to Bell, Telus, Rogers or even Kudoo, make sure you know what’s coming soon. The Samsung Galaxy S7 The Galaxy S7 is believed to debut right before the start of Mobile World Congress on February 21st. Samsung recently briefly released details on their website as a teaser regarding their new phone, confirming a 5.5 inch Galaxy S7 Edge which will be running Android’s Marshmallow. It will offer a wide type panel which will allow the device to add new features to the edge, including news widgets, a compass, and phone status. Not all details were not leaked, and there are still some rumours out in regards to the phone’s new features. The S7 is expected to have a 3D touch display, possibly a 4k display, and a camera with between 12MP and 25MP. The LG G5 February 21st will actually mark the launch date of TWO new phones, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5. LG has not yet leaked any information, therefore there is a lot of speculation and many rumours about the new phone. The LG G5 is expected to be the company’s best phone yet, and is believed to compete with the Galaxy S7. Many sources say that the G5 will have a 5.5 inch screen, a metal body rather than the same plastic one as the G4, as well as a snapdragon 820 processor and 3 GB of Ram. One reason many people opt for an LG rather than a Samsung is due to the fact that traditionally LG has been significantly cheaper. The LG S5 is expected to compare in price to the Galaxy S7 which may make it difficult to obtain more market share. The HTC One M10 At this point not much is known about the HTC One M10, and the launch likely will not be announced until at least March 2016. Almost nothing is known about the new HTC smartphone, and all knowledge about it is based on rumours and guesses. With that being said, rumour has it that the phone will have a 2k screen, a brushed metal frame, a fingerprint scanner and a 23MP to 25MP camera. So before you rush out and upgrade your phone, consider waiting a month or so. You can either upgrade to the newest model of smartphone, or you can get the second most recent phone for a cheaper price than you would today. Either way, we suggest waiting a few weeks, if you can!
